I’m worried about someone’s care, safety or treatment.
When you’ve raised something and it hasn’t landed, or when you’re not sure who to talk to next — ORVIA is an independent, human-led route.
Watch: How ORVIA supports families raising concerns.
How ORVIA supports families raising concerns.
I understood my son's case for the first time in eighteen months. That's what a proper reading does.Illustrative — the kind of thing families tell us

You're not on your own here.
Reading it with you, at your kitchen table.
You know something isn't right. Or you've been told something you can't quite trust. The file feels heavy, and every professional you speak to seems to be speaking a different language.
We sit down with the file and go through it with you. One row at a time. In your language.
We listen. We understand. We reveal what matters.
Common reasons families contact ORVIA
- Care that feels unsafe, indifferent or getting worse
- Concerns dismissed by the service or by professionals involved
- Sudden changes in behaviour, weight, medication or contact
- A pattern of incidents that’s never quite explained
- A safeguarding referral or investigation that feels one-sided
- A hearing, panel or review where you need help organising evidence
What ORVIA can do
Read the concern independently. Look at what’s been recorded and what hasn’t. Help you structure the evidence you already have. Give you an honest written view — including if we think the concern is not what you first thought.
What ORVIA cannot do
We are not the police, a regulator, a court, a solicitor or a safeguarding authority. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. If a safeguarding referral needs to be made, we’ll help you make one to the right people — we don’t replace that route.
How independent review works
- You tell us what’s happening (short form, ~4 minutes).
- We read it and decide whether we’re the right service (Gate One, within three working days).
- If we are, we scope a review with you and quote a fee before you agree to anything.
- If we’re not, we say so and point you to who is — with a signposting email you can use.
What information we need at the start
Not much. A summary of what’s happening, who’s involved, and what outcome you’re hoping for. Please do not upload documents through the public website — we’ll open a private, encrypted workspace if your case proceeds.
What a family receives
- A written independent review of the concerns
- Clear reasoning for our findings
- Recommended next steps — including who else may need to be involved
- Support to communicate those findings to the professionals in your case
Ready to talk to ORVIA?
Take two minutes to tell us what’s happening. We’ll respond within three working days.
One reviewer. One file. One finding.
No panel. No committee. A single named human reads the whole record and writes down what it says.
